Jump to: navigation, search

A character’s class is his or her profession or vocation. It determines what he or she is able to do: combat prowess, magical ability, skills, and more.

Avlis 2 classes have some restrictions and changes compared to those in the Obsidian Official Campaign. We also have a number of our own setting appropriate classes.

The Avlis 2 project is committed to allowing players the freedom to choose their own classes. We do not wish to impose verbal rules that are difficult to enforce. Our primary concern in evaluating a class is how it fits into the Avlis 2 setting. Where possible, we attempt to rewrite the story to a forgotten realms specific class so that it is Avlis appropriate. In a few cases, we've chosen to remove the class.

Our goal is to bring you 9 Holy Warrior PCs and 1 racial PrC for each race.

[edit] Avlis 2 Class Concepts

The people of Negaria view different classes in different ways. Common views and stereotypes can be found on the following pages.

[edit] Class Changes and Restrictions

The following is a list of changes to default NWN2 classes.

[edit] Rewritten Classes

Arcane Scholar of Candle Keep -- Rewritten as the Arcane Scholar. This class requires membership in the Indigo Phoenix

Neverwinter Nine -- Rewritten as the Crosstreams Warden

Red Wizard of Thay -- Rewritten as the Ardent Specialist

Shadow Thief of Amn -- Rewritten as Grey Dirk

[edit] Removed Classes

Harper Agent -- Forgotten realms specific, we've chosen not to rewrite this class.

Red Dragon Disciple -- There are no red dragons on Avlis 2, and therefore no Red Dragon disciples. The color is hard coded, so we cannot change it to an Avlis appropriate color.

[edit] Special Classes

Favored Soul -- Only available as a remort. That means that you have to reach a minimum of level 20 on another character. Should you choose to retire the character, the team will open this class as an option for you. Eventually we'll have an automated system so that you can remort your character through the death system.

Spirit Shaman -- Currently, this class is disabled. It's background has been rewritten and this class will be enabled in the near future.

[edit] Holy Warriors

Our goal is to have one custom Holy Warrior base class for each of the Great Nine deities. Currently, the Annihilator, the Avenger, and the Paladin are complete and are available for play in-game. The remaining classes are in various stages of design and development. It should be noted that the default NWN2 Blackguard is also available in game. It is our eventual intent to convert the Blackguard prestige class into a base class like the other Holy Warriors. However, there is no definate timetable for this conversion, and it is currently planned only after the rest are implemented, which will be a substantial ammount of time. If you would like to play a Blackguard in the mean time, feel free to use the current PrC. If and when the class is updated down the line, the DM team can assist existing characters in converting to the new format.

[edit] Racial PrCs

Our goal is to eventually have one racial PrC per race. In some cases, a stock PrC will double as the racial PrC for a particular race. In other cases, a custom class may be designed. The remaining racial prestige classes will only be implemented once all of the holy warriors are in the game.
